The Galloise shirt is inspired by a shirt worn by Pablo during his stay at La Galloise, a villa in Vallauris, France. This shirt was cotton flannel and was said to have come from a fishing supplies shop in Portugal. With Pablo being the ultimate man of summer, I decided to get stuck in and recreate this shirt and add a few extra TRiCKETT bits to make it your ultimate go-to shirt for when things get a bit chilly at the beach / you want to paint a masterpiece.
The Galloise is made from a midweight cotton flannel that can be dressed up or down depending on your mood / the length of your trousers. The shirt is a traditional ‘hunting’ shape in that it is a little loose and has an ‘action’ pleat at the back for extra movement when you are holding a rifle / quickly collecting your belongings as you get kicked off a private beach.
There are two flapped pockets to the front with the left chest pocket having a pen pocket for clipping a four- colour Bic to or, in Pablo’s case, attaching your lighter to it. The collar is a slightly bigger size to make your head look a little smaller and to make the overall proportions of the shirt look better. It was once cool to look like an indie singer from the mid ’00s, but those tiny collars only ever made you look like a lollipop… sorry.
The hem is curved and is bound to prevent plucking from your trousers / when you are wondering through trees. no-one wants their hem to drop. The sleeves are buttoned and even have a lovely extra button on the sleeve placket should you want to roll the sleeves up to just above the wrist. Talking of buttons, our buttons are mother of pearl and all natural, no weird polyester buttons for us, oh no!
Our shirts are expertly made in Portugal by Anabela, Antonio and the team who make shirts for some of the biggest names in the business. The details and finish on these beauties really is second to none and something that you will enjoy wearing time and time again.
Wear with a t-shirt underneath, use as a beach jacket with nothing underneath or layer it in autumn and winter, the options are endless.

All orders are packed by us in house and sent from our HQ here in Accrington. Next Working Day is Monday - Friday only. If your order is placed after 12PM on a Friday or over the weekend this will be dispatched on the next working day and due for the delivery the following working day after that.
Customers have 14 days from the day they receive their parcel to return it back to us. To be refundable, all products must be completely unworn and unwashed, and must be returned in their original condition. All international orders are final, no refunds, exchanges or credit notes.
