To say that I have had a ‘few’ pairs of trainers in my time may be a bit of an understatement. I always loved the models that were super retro, but had a certain edge to them. You could play sport in them (badly) and you could also go out for a nice meal in a pair of retro basketball, handball or football trainers which is what we all want. Trainers now have become a bit too much like the type of thing you would wince at when you dad came back with a pair of running shoes saying ‘well they are comfortable and look good to me.’ And no-one wants that. Equally those weird super-minimal trainers that German graphic designers wear aren’t the type of thing I would wear and they always end up costing like 3000€. So I went to Napoli, came up with a shoe and came back with the Accy Force One.

The first thing to mention is that our trainers are made from premium, thicker leathers. You probably won’t be used to this kind of thing nowadays as leathers seem to get cheaper and poorer quality as time goes on, but our leather is a beautiful white leather which feels lovely. In fact, the leather is so heavy that there may be some ‘cracking’ at the bit at the back of the shoe because we had to use some SUPER heavy duty machines to get through it, but fear not, they will last ages. The toe box is perforated like so many of my favourite shoes and has a regular pattern so that creasing shouldn’t happen as much.

The sole unit is a cappuccino colour as white soles always end up getting dirty really quickly. The mud guard has one side of the Vesuvio on the panel just so you can show people where they were made. The tongue is branded with the TRiCKETT logo which is laser etched, because I always find woven labels cheapen shoes a little. At the back is the lasered #15 as that is my lucky number and as a kid I always imagined that my signature shoe would have my squad number on, so that is why it is there.

The insole and the inside of the shoe is lined in leather so that you can wear the shoes without socks (you barbarian!) and gives the shoe a bit more of a premium feel. The shoes come with a spare pair of cappuccino laces should you wish to change the look of the shoes a bit. Each pair of shoes is made by hand in Napoli by Nello and his team and when we say ‘by hand’, we really mean it. Each and every pair is completely different, with the eyelets being punched by hand and stitching done by shoe makers who have been producing premium shoes for years.

So whether you are looking for a new pair of summer holiday pumps, want something that you can throw on and look good or you just like the number 15, the Accy Force One is for you!
