This probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise, but I love football shirts. However, one thing that I love more than football shirts are jumpers, so it only made sense to me for me to combine one of the all-time greatest football shirts with a wonderful jumper and the Zizou is just that!
This jumper pays homage to the great France 1998 home shirt in which the French won their first ever world cup. An iconic shirt for so many reasons, but even if you don’t like football, just look at those colours!!! A blue main with a larger red stripe with 3 white bands underneath that, all with a knowing nod to the shirt that was worn when the French won the cup at home.
Now we didn’t want to just make a striped jumper, we wanted it work exactly like a traditional French sailor sweater, so we added all the details that you would expect. The fit is a little closer to the body so feel the cold out and the warm in, there are ribbed cuffs and hem with the collar being double knit to stop the cold ocean air getting as your neck. The jumper also features the stripes on the front chest and on the reverse, unlike the original jersey, just because we think it looks better.
We have also gone for the traditional buttons down the shoulder seam, this is to very much indicate that it is a French naval jumper, but also it has a function to let a little more air into your sweater when it gets a bit too warm, which will definitely happen when wearing this.
The jumpers are made by our friends Lucie and Geoffrey on the north-west coast of France from 100% virgin French wool like the originals. The wool is dense, has a real weight to it and feels wonderful when worn. These are exact replicas of what the French navy wear and have have remained largely unchanged since 1858, which is nice. We highly recommend going up a size in the jumper if you prefer a looser fit and two sizes if you prefer a really loose fit as these sweaters are designed to fit close to the body, but the handy size chart should sort that for you.
So whether you want to pretend to be a world cup winner, think that wearing football shirts isn’t for you anyone, but you like to let people know that you have the footballing knowledge of Wikipedia or a world class fisherman, the Zizou jumpers will sort you right out! Allez!

All orders are packed by us in house and sent from our HQ here in Accrington. If you spend £75 or more then, postage is on us, because we like you. Next Working Day is Monday - Friday only. If your order is placed after 12PM on a Friday or over the weekend this will be dispatched on the next working day and due for the delivery the following working day after that.
Customers have 14 days from the day they receive their parcel to return it back to us. To be refundable, all products must be completely unworn and unwashed, and must be returned in their original condition. All international orders are final, no refunds, exchanges or credit notes.
