Super Santos balls are the only balls worth kicking about in Napoli. On every street corner you see kids playing football with this iconic orange ball. I had never seen them before until I ending up kicking one back to a group of lads when I first visited. I pretend I was Insigne, they weren’t impressed.
We are also working with our friends Total Football in Napoli to ensure every child that wants a Super Santos ball in Napoli can have one. There is a tradition in Napoli of buying a coffee for a stranger when you have had some good luck and giving a suspended coffee (caffè sospeso) to someone as a gift who maybe hasn’t had as much luck as you have. Total Football in Napoli have taken this idea and created the ‘pallone sospeso’, where a child can ask for a free football in store if they aren’t lucky enough to have access to one. You can purchase a pallone sospeso here and we will make sure that any child in Napoli that wants one, can have access to a great football to become the next Lorenzo Insigne.
The balls are hard-wearing and bounce delightfully, they look just as good on the street as they do on the grass. The new version of these balls are biodegradable and they can be pumped up using a standard hand pump too, which is a nice bonus. We are the only shop in the UK to carry these and we hope to try and keep them in stock for as long as we can.
