There was a time in the early ’00s when all you saw in Italian cities were blokes wearing American fridge engineer jackets and looking super cool, so I thought now would be a great time to bring them back and add a few extra details to make them a little more TRiCKETT.
The ‘Cold as Ice Jacket’ is designed to be that layer of protection you need when on the terraces during winter, spending too long thinking about chicken dippers in the frozen food aisle of ASDA or maybe even fixing industrial freezers… imagine that. As a result we have poured in a lot of TRiCKETT things to make this jacket feel both premium and utilitarian, which is no mean feat! So let’s get right into it.
The jacket is made from a showerproof, lightweight nylon that can put up with a real beating. It is designed for use in some of the most difficult working environments so is extremely rugged and I think it also happens to looks ace too. The fabric is then insulated with polyester fill for maximum warmth to weight ratio and that is just the beginning of the insulation features! The jacket has a fully elasticated waist so that no cold air can get up your back and it helps to give the jacket a bit of shape.
The collar is the traditional ‘pile’ collar that can be flicked up to warm your cheeks or left down for your neck to snuggle into. There are elasticated cuffs that hug your wrists to keep the warm air in and the cold air out, or can be folded back for extra security. The jacket was based on a classic workwear jacket and as a result has the three patch pockets to the front for storage or for if you want to keep your chicken dippers in your pocket… we won’t tell anyone. For added ruggedness the pockets are then riveted at the top like a great pair of jeans, no scrimping here!
The jacket is then finished with a brass zip and a studded zip cover, just to add to the premium details of this wonderful jacket. The jacket also features TRiCKETT logo on the right chest and the name of the manufacturer on the left chest pocket. The jackets also have the date of when they were made, so there will be no ‘Oh I have had this years’ nonsense when it arrives!
They are made in Tennessee by Olga and her team at Extremegard, what these people don’t know about keeping warm probably isn’t worth knowing. They are made to a beautiful standard with even the bottom hem of the jacket being bound to reduce plucking and stitching failures.
When worn as a top layer under a few layers, the jackets are guaranteed down to -25 degrees centigrade, so you will definitely be nice and snug when the temperatures drop and for £165, it is probably worth a bash just for that collar. Keep warm and look good, easy peasy.

All orders are packed by us in house and sent from our HQ here in Accrington. If you spend £75 or more then, postage is on us, because we like you. Next Working Day is Monday - Friday only. If your order is placed after 12PM on a Friday or over the weekend this will be dispatched on the next working day and due for the delivery the following working day after that.
Customers have 14 days from the day they receive their parcel to return it back to us. To be refundable, all products must be completely unworn and unwashed, and must be returned in their original condition. All international orders are final, no refunds, exchanges or credit notes.
