Mexico is one of Passalacqua’s best-known blends and a cracking example of proper Neapolitan coffee, rich, smooth, aromatic and naturally sweet.
Despite the name, it isn’t a single-origin Mexican coffee. It’s a blend of 100% Arabica beans from several different origins, carefully put together and dark roasted in Naples. The result is full-bodied and wonderfully smooth, with plenty of chocolate, caramel and slightly nutty sweetness.
It has all the richness you’d expect from a traditional southern Italian coffee without being overly bitter or aggressive. It’s the sort of coffee that works just as well as a quick espresso in the morning as it does slowly disappearing from a moka pot after a big Sunday lunch.
Passalacqua have been roasting coffee in Naples since 1948, and Mexico has become one of their real classics. Excellent coffee, excellent tin and a little taste of Napoli without the cost of a Ryanair flight.
250g ground coffee in the classic Passalacqua tin. Perfect for a moka pot.
