There are some things that are about (or should that be aboot?) as Canadian as it gets, like hockey, coffee crisps, Alanis Morissette… but the thing that screams ‘Canada’ to me is maple syrup. About 100 years ago when we first started TRiCKETT, maple syrup was amongst the first things that we stocked in our shop because I love it so much. We actually had people make us import 2 litre tubs of it because they loved it so much.
Anyway we are back after a few years with our new syrup made as a collaboration between us and the wonderful Kluane Mountaineering (they’re Canadian so it made sense). The syrup comes from the lovely Wagler family in Ontario who have been farming the local area for generations and know a thing or two about the sweet stuff.
I am sure you will have noticed, but just for the avoidance of doubt, the syrup comes in a bottle shaped like a hockey player, just to make it even more Canadian. On the player’s chest is the TRiCKETT x Kluane logo, just in case you want to show off to your mates when you eventually use this as a vase. I know, it is about as ‘TRiCKETT’ an item as we have ever done, but it is cool isn’t it?
Whether it is on pancakes with bacon, to roast your vegetables in or to add to nice cocktails, our maple syrup is ready and waiting for you.
