This will not come as a shock to anyone, but I love dogs. More than that, I enjoy taking them out for a good walk and have always struggled to find a dog lead that looked nice. They are either made from that weird plastic stuff, have loads of metal on them and make you look like you are in a DMX video or they are that woven stuff with dogs bones and love hearts woven into the fabric. So I decided enough was enough (or e-ruff was e-ruff… sorry) and made my own from the finest materials the UK has to offer.
Our leads are made from a beautiful British bridle leather in brown that will last a lifetime, the more this is used the more it will patinate and become unique to you, your dog and your lifestyle. As if we could use British leather without using British brass, so that is why the clip is made from brass with the securing rivets at the handle and top of the clip are also in brass. There is also a D-loop in brass at the base of the handle for you to hang those essential little bags from, or use to clip onto and wear the lead around your neck when not in use. The lead is finished with the TRiCKETT logo and ‘made in England’ because… it is made in England.
The leather is strong and durable and will stand the test of time. However, you know your dog best and we would advise that this lead is probably best for those with dogs who are already well-trained to walk on a lead. If your dog pulls a lot whilst walking on the lead you probably need a more specialised product than this. As regards looking after the lead, like all beautiful leather products make sure to feed the leather ever so often and when wet leave to air dry, don’t put on a radiator.
