Bonfire Night

If you have been following TRiCKETT for a little while, you will know that we are ALWAYS on the lookout for the perfect hoodie. We don’t care where we need to go to find them, but we will find them Liam Neeson voice. Our most recent search landed us in Canada where we found a manufacturer who makes some ‘Supremely’ good sweatshirts and have done so for a number of years now.

As with everything we make here at TRiCKETT, we start with a wonderful fabric. Whilst not as heavy as our usual Portuguese sweatshirts, these beauties certainly pack a punch due to the way that the fabric is finished. The fleece is manufactured in a way that makes it denser, more wind-resistant and warmer. It features a brushed back and a dry handle which helps to make it your ideal layer for battling the chilly days. This fabric is inspired by bonfire night, one of my favourite nights of the year. The dark skies, fireworks, bonfires and sticky toffee apples, I mean what is there not to love? This is a black base with multicoloured flecks throughout to represent the fireworks in the sky, proper wholesome!

This particular one comes with a glow-in-the-dark print on the sleeve, just in case you get lost at a bonfire! These are done by hand, by Jim and the team in Huddersfield, because they are the best.

The hoodie comes in a slightly boxier shape which makes it a better shape for those of us who are heroically built/can’t resist an extra slice of pie at the buffet. Talking of buffets, these sweatshirts have a split side panel which gives extra expansion across the tummy should you need to enter a burrito eating contest. The hood is made in three parts for a nice and snug fit with cords for a custom fit. I can hear you say snug!

The stitching throughout the garment is coverseam, which means there are three rows of stitching keeping your sweatshirt together rather than just one like most sweatshirts. One piece of stitching magic is that the wrist stitching follows all the way down, the arm, underneath the armpit, into the side panel and then to the hem at the bottom. This is all done in one operation to reduce the stitching and increase durability. This type of stitching can only be done by extremely talented machinists with experience and the correct amount of patience. The tops are then printed with the TRiCKETT logo on the left sleeve, just to let everyone know who made your top, but without shouting about it. These are done by hand, by Jim and the team in Huddersfield, because they are the best.

So, we think we have got another classic on our hands. Don’t mess about, treat yourself to some lovely Canadian fleeced magic now.
