Now we’re talking. Tartiflette is one of the great comfort foods of the French Alps and, frankly, an excellent argument for spending winter somewhere with mountains.
Originating in the Haute-Savoie region, tartiflette is a magnificent combination of potatoes, onions, lardons and Reblochon cheese, baked together until the whole thing becomes a bubbling, golden masterpiece.
Interestingly, although it feels like an ancient Alpine dish, tartiflette was popularised in the 1980s to promote Reblochon cheese. A marketing campaign that resulted in one of France’s finest dishes. Not bad, eh?
Bret’s have taken the rich, cheesy, smoky and wonderfully savoury flavours of tartiflette and put them into a bag of crisps.
Essentially, après-ski without the skiing, expensive lift passes or having to wear one of those ridiculous shiny jackets.
Made in Brittany, France. 125g bag.
