The French have a sauce for absolutely everything, and frankly, I think they’re onto something.
Sauce Pommes Frites is one of those wonderful French condiments that you’ll find accompanying chips in little cafés, roadside food stands and chip shops across France. Think of a rich, creamy mayonnaise with a slightly vinegary, lemony tang, designed specifically to make an already magnificent portion of fried potatoes even better.
Now, somebody at Bret’s had the rather inspired idea of taking the flavour of this wonderful sauce and putting it onto a potato crisp. Potatoes flavoured with a sauce designed for other potatoes. It’s genius, really.
The result is a wonderfully creamy, tangy, savoury crisp with just a little sweetness and a flavour that makes it almost impossible to put the bag down.
One of my absolute favourites from Bret’s, and further proof that the French really do understand the important things in life.
Made in Brittany, France. 125g bag.
