Ever since we first started here at TRiCKETT we have sold bobble hats and up until last year, we had never really sat down and changed the shape of them so after our original supplier closed their doors, it gave me the kick I needed to go back to the drawing board. So after some tweaking and sampling, we have come back with our new and improved 2025 bobble hat.

The hat comes in 100% wool that is spun and knitted in lovely Scotland, but the main difference from our usual hats is the ribbed main body of the hat and the much improved bobble on the top. Who knew that you could improve on a bobble eh? The fit of the hat hugs much closer to the head than our older style of bobble hat and can accommodate even the largest of melons in there.

So for the launch of our new hats, we thought that we should make a collection inspired by a rare Lancastrian treat… the loose meat and potato pie that actually isn’t a pie… Sorry if that is confusing. Here in lovely Lancashire we always serve our pie with a side of pickles or peas and this one pays homage to the connoisseurs choice of pickled red cabbage. I remember my uncle John telling me that you could tell that people were Burnley fans if they had claret cabbage on their plate, I am not sure how true that is. A beautiful burgundy that seemingly goes with any outfit.

If you are a non-bobble type, hop here, and add the bobble removing service and your hat will magically have the bobble removed, just remember that you can’t return the hat for any reason if the bobble is removed. Like getting your football shirt printed with the wrong name and number!
