There is a time and a place for a sweatshirt that thinks it is a long-sleeve T-shirt, that also wants to be a henley. Well, that time is now and that place is here. I give to you the 964 X-Treme Jersey henley by our friends at Camber, and it is an absolute belter!
This piece of kit is made from Camber’s proprietary X-Treme Jersey, which is a compacted, dry cotton jersey that weighs in at a whopping 14.5oz, which is usually the weight reserved for jeans, not a lovely sweatshirt. The fabric is hefty, hardwearing and extremely warm. All that, and somehow it manages to remain incredibly breathable too.
The top itself comes in a very traditional fit and, unlike the Camber hoodies we stock, this garment comes pre-shrunk, so there will be no major shrinking of note. Each top is piece-dyed and has a wonderful worn-in feel straight out of the packaging.
There are three woodtone buttons to the front, a ribbed collar, short ribbed cuffs and a split hem for extra movement. Double-needle stitching at the hem and armholes adds a bit more strength where you need it, while the side-seam construction helps prevent the garment from twisting over time.
The fit is very much true to size, so if you prefer a looser fit, definitely go up a size. Luca is wearing a Large in the photos, just for reference.
This is something that you will still be wearing in ten years. It will look brand new and you will be wandering around building sites telling people, ‘Oooh, we used to do things properly back in my day.’ They will think you know what you are on about because of your hardwearing top, little do they know you only know how to fix things with super glue.
100% cotton.
