I am not going to bang on about these too much (I probably will), but the Weathers sweatshirt is probably one of the most quintessentially ‘TRiCKETT’ pieces that we have ever made. We released it for the first time in 2020 and you lot loved it, and with good reason! So after a few years’ hiatus, we decided to upgrade them for 2025, change a few bits and keep the rest the same, because it doesn’t need too much tinkering!
As always, we start with the fabric. This is a true replica of the grey sweatshirt that Carl Weathers wore and as a result we have gone for a 60/40 cotton polyester mix. This helps to give the sweatshirt that marled look that you all love and it also helps it to get softer and softer, wash after wash. The biggest change that we have made to the sweatshirt is to lose the side panels and add in a little more room across the tummy. This still has the classic TRiCKETT shape with ample shoulders and trim through the body, but this way the drape across the torso is a little more flattering… see, I do know what I am on about.
The collar remains unchanged with its two metal eyelets and white strings for a snugger fit if you need it. The upgrades come in the form of a chunky, metal zip that makes everything feel that little more premium and for the branding we have gone for an embroidered tackle twill rather than chenille. This helps to give the sweatshirt a much more premium feel and doesn’t attract fluff like the chenille did. The sweatshirt is then finished with triple needle stitching throughout for added strength and a ribbed hem and cuffs.
The tops are expertly made in Portugal by our dear friends Anabela and Filipe to a beautiful standard. Some of these still go for good money on the resale sites and look just as good after five years, which makes me feel all fuzzy and warm inside. Anyway, grab yourself a bit of TRiCKETT history and a lovely sweatshirt.
