The Mehra jacket is a keen favourite here at TRiCKETT. Unstructured, super-cool and can be worn year-round, we can see why it is so popular. The Mehra is made from a premium British fabric and its versatile shape means it can be dressed up or down and looks great with jeans or tailoring. It also has lots of useful pockets. There are three front pockets – two on each side at the bottom and one on the left chest with a divider for a pen, slim cigar or a Pepperami… whatever floats your boat.
The fabric for this jacket was designed with versatility in mind. We all love a bit of wool in our wardrobes and that is why we dedicated this jacket and fabric to the humble Accrington NORI brick. We have gone for a nice, loosely-woven tweed that makes you look like you own a very big estate in Scotland, when in fact the closest you will get to an estate is the time you worked at an estate agents for five weeks. The fabric is a base of orange and white with a nice, big green overcheck to represent the moss that sometimes grows on ancient bricks in Accy. The fabric is woven from a beautiful Geelong yarn, which, when you touch it, almost feels like cashmere. I have no idea how it happened, but trust me, you’ll want to go to sleep in this. Delicious.
For 2025, we have updated our Mehra a little and added a couple of changes. The collar is now much more like a shirt collar and comes to a point at the front, making it just a touch more versatile. We have our custom sausage roll pocket on the inside of the jacket, but seeing as so many of you wanted a sausage roll and phone on the inside of your jacket, you now have TWO sausage roll pockets. We have also added a herringbone strap around the inside of the jacket to give the waist a bit of structure and to reinforce the bottom pockets… it also happens to look good too. The jacket is still finished with vintage horn buttons down the front and cuffs and a TRiCKETT flag label to the chest pocket. And as if that wasn’t enough, there is a contrast suede panel underneath the collar, fancy eh?
Upender makes these for us in Bolton and, by crikey, he does a good job. So much so, he even kept one for himself… a proper compliment if you ask me. You can even watch him talking about UK manufacturing below.
