Incense is a bit of a keen interest here at TRiCKETT and especially variants Japanese variants of it. Shoyeido have been making traditional incense in Kyoto for over 300 years and create some of the most complex and interesting incense that we have ever sampled. Throw in the fact that the packaging is absolutely incredible and you have pretty much the perfect TRiCKETT mix.
Each pack comes with 80 sticks of incense and an incense holder that once you are finished with it all you need to do is pop it in the compost of leave in some water overnight and it will dissolve… magic eh? Anyways, the scents are as follows.
Yellow Packet – Sousou (Rustling Meadow) – Green fields, lovely days out and summer. I mean what more do you need?
Red Packet – Kaho (Flower Garden) – This is a proper lovely, Japanese garden style scent that is sweet and really nicely perfumed.
Green Packet – Sougetsu (Moon Reflection) – That nice bit of winter when it becomes spring and you can put the big coats back in the loft. Smells like dead nice flowers.
Pink Packet – Yukiyanagi (Spring Blossoms) – My personal favourite in that it smells like blossom and baby powder all mixed together.
Blue Packet – Yoinouta (Poetry at dusk) – A burning fire as you recite your favourite poems. That is what my Japanese pals say it smells like so let’s go with that. Or… a right good bonfire.
If you can’t make your mind up and want to try all of them before you commit to one, click here to go to the sample packs, there you can sniff all of them before settling on one or all of them.
