I know, I know, I know, it has been far too long since we last released our Toledo shoes and so after a three year hiatus, they are back and even better than before. The shoes are inspired by the seldom seen Wallabee sport that was only around for about a year, it combined the hand-sewn moccasin upper with a cup-sole construction for a lighter, more durable shoe that faired better in the British weather than the original sole of crepe. Although produced for only a short period, they had a cult following and I decided that we needed to make our own version… so we did.

In 2022, these things came into the shop and then flew out again straight away, so we restocked them and they did the exact same again. So now they are back and here is why you are going to want to get them on your feet. They are back in their original caramel leather format, with some slight burnishing for just a little bit of added excitement!

The shoes come on our super grippy, toledo sole unit that grips in the wet and is easy to wear when the sun is shining. There are all kinds of multi-directional grips and grooves on the sole for you to try out. The upper is stitched around the sole unit for extra security and to make your shoes last longer. The moccasin is toe is hand-stitched (like they should be) and the toe is split at the front for better movement and durability. Speaking durability, we have even covered the back seam with suede so that no threads break loose.

The shoe comes in the perfect profile to wear with jeans, chinos, shorts or whatever else you want to wear them with. They are that perfect shoe for when you don’t know what shoes to wear as they aren’t too casual and they aren’t too smart. Our Toledos have a cushioned midsole that is perfect for long walks down the main shopping street in Napoli or nipping to the corner shop for milk. The shoes are lined in leather and debossed with the TRiCKETT ‘Fatt a Napule’ logo.

Speaking of Napoli, the shoes are made in my favourite city by Nello and the team. Italy, in particular the south of Italy, has a long and storied history of making beautiful shoes and these are a fine example of their excellent handiwork. With costs for these types of shoes now over £150, we are proud to release our Toledo shoes for £75, more than half the price of the shoes that you can get anywhere else.
