I sometimes wonder if we have ever hit ‘peak overshirt’ and then we manage to come up with one of the best shirts that we have ever made. Our Roque shirt pays homage to a top worn by Pablo in the late ’50s. In the shirt pockets, he stored all of his paints, pencils, brushes, lighter and cigarettes so that he could just concentrate on creating and not have to leave his canvas/pottery wheel. The shirt combines the utility of a military jacket, the relaxed elegance of a linen shirt and the formality of a regular shirt… I know, magic eh?

Like with all things TRiCKETT, we have started with a beautiful fabric that mixes ruggedness and summer cool all in one woven masterpiece. The fabric is designed to keep you at a nice temperature when the weather warms up or when you get sent to the wrong ferry terminal and then you are told that there isn’t another one setting sail for 18 hours… I digress. The fabric has a beautiful mid-weight to it that makes you feel like you are wearing something substantial whilst also looking like a 1950’s film star.

The shirt itself comes in a relaxed fit that is designed to be worn over a t-shirt or shirt, if you want to look like a member of a ’90s boy band a wear it with nothing underneath, then go a size down. There are lots of functioning pockets for you to house everything that you could possibly need. If you pack it correctly, you probably won’t need a bag, which is pretty impressive if you ask me. However if you want to look like Pablo, just pack lots of paints.

The shirt has a full-button front and is designed to be worn open, maybe a few buttons done up when the temperatures dip a little. This particular shirt comes in our Bugatti colour which pays homage to the first car made by the French car manufacturer, if you do have a Bugatti for you to compare the colour, feel free to send us a photo of the two together. The shirt also has a hanging loop at the back for hanging at your local wine bar, on the back of your chair or tossed nonchalantly over your shoulder whilst you eat an ice-cream and contemplate your fourth glass of pastis.

Just to make things even more louche and relaxed, we have garment-dyed this beauty like the dead expensive Italian jacket brands with compasses do. This gives an unparalleled vibrancy of colour and helps to make it look like you have had it for years, only adding to making you look like the coolest person in the bar / chippy.
