For those who have been following TRiCKETT for a little while now you will know that we love strange, useful things and I would definitely class our new foldable seat as just that. These beauties are made in Japan and have been a mainstay of Japanese camping for a good few years. The seat is made from a super rugged polypropylene that is hard-wearing, bendy and surprisingly comfortable. The seat is ergonomically designed to fit most backsides and is riveted in all the corners, meaning that it can bear a weight of 100KG.
The seat folds completely flat and even had a press stud to make sure that it doesn’t flap open when not in use. There is a carry handle for easy transportation and a nice zip lock bag to keep it clean when not being used. There are loads of different ways that this can be used, but some of our favourites are using it to sit on at the side of the road to fix your bike, meditating, gardening, using as a yoga block, having a seat when you’re waiting for your favourite band to come on at a festival or just to use as an emergency seat when too many people get invited to the barbecue. Our friends in Japan say that they are sometimes used to to carry lighter objects like a bucket and some creative people even use it as a campsite bin.
I just to happen to keep one in my car should I need to sit by the road or go fishing. They aren’t huge, but they are hugely useful… terrible joke.
