A little while ago my friend Matt and I decided that we wanted to make a super-minimal wallet. Something that worked really well, looked beautiful and used premium leathers. So here is the card fold wallet.

Being someone from the 21st century, I don’t really use cash (although pubs and chippies are a different case) and I don’t carry photos of Mabel (my dog) in my wallet either so all I really needed space for were my cards… like many other people. There is ample space for 4 cards and in my case you can even squeeze 8 in if you really need to. Luca’s car has a credit card for the key, so I made the holders slightly bigger to accommodate this kind of card. All of our leathers are sourced from premium tanneries and therefore will stretch over time, so don’t worry if your cards are a little tight when you first use it.

The cases are made in Lancashire by our mate Matt who cuts and stitches each one by hand. None of this machinery stuff for Matt, oh no. This is a premium piece of artisan leatherwork, and the amount of time, care and skill that Matt puts into each item really shows in the finished product.

This particular wallet comes in our “Air Accrington” colourway as it uses the original leathers which featured on the Iconic Jordan 3 back in the day. Matt found the original tannery in Italy that made the leathers and ensured that the spec was the exact same. For trainer enthusiasts you will notice that the ‘elephant’ print is fully embossed, rather than the cheap printed stuff that they use nowadays. It is finished with a red foil TRiCKETT logo, just to make it look extra bullish… see what I did there.

This is my day-to-day wallet and I have never thought I needed to change it because it’s that well made and looks better with age. Which I love.
