There comes a point in life where having lovely, comfortable shoes is more important than having the latest collab with a big sportswear company and a badger influencer who raps and makes pottery that looks like subbuteo figures… I am fairly sure that is what people are into nowadays… I digress. When that day comes, know that you don’t need to give up on style and you can also have Danish technology, German engineering and a shoe box that looks like it was found in a time capsule from 1962.

Let me present to you, Jacoform, the shoes that combine everything you ever want from a pair of shoes and happen to make you look like the cool teacher that Lisa falls in love with in the Simpsons (Mr. Bergstrom, voiced by Dustin Hoffman in the episode ‘Lisa’s Substitute’ if you want to check it out). The shoes are made from an absolutely beautiful tumbled leather that just seems to get better and better with age, I know people who got these from Oi Polloi back in the day and they look just as good as they day that they were bought. These shoes are a classic ‘leisure shoe’ (that sadly no-one wears anymore) and they are designed to be comfortable, look good and circulate the air on hot days. Yes, those are holes on the uppers, so try not to wear these when it is raining.

What makes these shoes super special is the custom sole unit that ‘rocks’ you forward for a smoother transition when walking and it saves your knees from unnecessary strain, one thing we could all do with being mindful of. The toe box of the shoe is wider than your normal shoes to help your foot move more naturally and healthily, because feet shouldn’t be trapped in shoes, they should be free. The toe box is also ergonomically designed, much like some world-famous German sandals, in order to reduce rubbing and to help increase blood flow to your lovely trotters so that they don’t become tired.

The shoes are manufactured in German to the very highest of standards and have reinforcements and stitching in places that you never knew you needed it. Four eyelets, tonal laces and a Jacoform branded stud helps to make these shoes look less ‘geography teacher’ and more ‘experienced tour guide who likes a pint after the tour.’ I like to wear mine with jeans and chinos, however I did wear them with shorts and a hoodie the other day and I felt like a million dollars.
