Shaq Attaq

We decided recently that it was time to tell you kind people about what makes us tick here at TRiCKETT. So what better way than once every week or so, profiling something that had a huge affect on the way we look at the world. So what better way to start than with one of the most important basketball players in history.

Shaquille Rashaun O’Neal was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1972 (we just missed his Birthday which he shares with my sister). I could give you a huge history lesson on how Shaq got to where he did and how incredible his career was (that’s what Wikipedia is for) but we thought that we would tell you why we love him in a sort of top 5 reasons way.

1. Shaq got me into basketball. Simple. There was something about a mammoth man playing in Orlando (a family favourite holiday destination) that just made me want to watch.

2. The Reebok Shaqnosis – If this is your first time seeing this shoe I am jealous of you.

3.  He is a trained Police Officer, we need more celebrity officers in my opinion.

4. He made debatedly the worst / best film ever in Kazaam and also appeared in my personality-shaping film Space Jam.

5. Generally his ability to single hand idly win everything that he could in the NBA with the Lakers and the Heat. Mr. O’Neal take a bow.
